Shipping and Returns Policy

By Purchasing an item from you agree to the following terms of conditions:


Shipping, Returns, Release of Liability



All orders are shipped as soon as possible by date of order. Orders may take up to 2 weeks to have your order ready for shipping, but will usually be fulfilled sooner.

We make every one of our ceramic pieces by hand from start to finish. Some pieces may take a week to two weeks, to create. We will do our best to communicate any delays in your order either in the item description (so you know before you make your purchase) or by email (after you make your purchase).

We can ship to virtually any address in the world, if Santa can do it, we can too! Although for our larger items, Australia and new Zealand are particularly difficult (but not impossible). If you can receive a package we will find the best, least expensive, way to get one delivered to you. Occaisonally, shipping prices increase (sometimes without notice) between the time you place your order and the time it is ready to be shipped. If the difference is more than $10 you will be responsible for the difference in shipping cost - these costs are beyond my control.

We generally use the US Postal Service (USPS), and UPS (United Parcel Service).We reserve the right to choose the best shipping option at the time your item is ready to be sent to you, regardless of what method was chosen at checkout. If the we use a different method to ship your item(s), and there is a price difference, the difference will be considered handling charges and will not be refunded.

We have shipped thousands of Ceramic Christmas Trees around the world and had over 99% of them arrive in perfect condition (true story, good elves don't lie). Your's should too...

That's because we pack with great care using quality packing materials and sturdy boxes (some of our inner packing material is reclaimed from local businesses). We have some ceramic pieces that are over 40 years old and still look new. We make all our ceramic pieces to last for generations. The last thing we want is for someone to be disappointed by a chipped or broken piece. However, in the very unlikely event that your piece does come damaged in some way, please see the return policy below.

Please note: You have 14 days from the date your package arrives to notify us of a problem with your order. We will consider all sales final and received in good condition if we do not hear from you within 14 days from the date of receipt.

If your item arrives broken in the package (i.e. you can hear broken pieces) - DO NOT OPEN/UNWRAP IT. Contact us immediately for replacement instructions.

Except for instances of gross negligence by us, under no circumstances shall Dark Horse Arts and Gifts LLC be held accountable, or liable, for delays in transit, misdelivery, acts of God, or lost or stolen packages once in the hands of the delivery service provider (we will make a claim in these particular instances - all items are insured) and especially after proof of delivery has been obtained.

Return Policy

Your satisfaction is very important to me. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please contact me to tell me what problem you are experiencing so that I can either correct it or offer a refund. 

You may return any item(s) within 14 business days from date of receipt. Returned items must be in the exact same condition as sent/received and sent back using the exact packaging (whenever possible - MANDATORY FOR ALL CERAMIC CHRISTMAS TREES). Buyer will pay all return shipping costs. Refunds will be for the cost of the items only, without original shipping costs included - no exceptions.

There will be a 15% re-stocking fee on all returned ceramic Christmas tree bases. Exchanges will calculated accordingly and either reimbursed or charged extra at time of exchange request with no additional surcharges.

If you receive an item that is obviously broken in the box, do not open the item, please contact me at for instructions to send the unopened package back, if applicable. Dark Horse Arts and Gifts will pay for the shipping costs in these instances only.

All refunds paid by credit card will be returned to that credit card; PayPal purchases will be returned via PayPal; all others will be made via company check. Please allow up to 3 weeks for refunds to be made after seller receives the unwanted or damaged items back from purchaser.

Release of Liability

You are purchasing a ceramic item from this website. Once your item is received and found to be in good condition, Dark Horse Arts and Gifts LLC shall be held harmless and released from all liability. In doing so you agree to hold Dark Horse Arts and Gifts LLC, its owners, employees, and agents, harmless in case of injury, accidents, or any other act which may result in injury or damage by use or misuse of any item purchased from this website. The purchaser shall assume all such liabilities.

Ceramics must be handled with care - just as you handle glass objects. Use common sense when using, transporting, cleaning, and storing your ceramic item. Additionally, use caution when operating electrical devices which may accompany items sold on this website - especially the light sockets - DO NOT TOUCH LIGHT SOCKETS WHEN PLUGGED IN - KEEP AWAY FROM FROM CHILDREN. Furthermore, there may some plastic parts which are small and sharp - be careful when handling and also keep away from children and animals. Always display and store your ceramic Christmas tree in a safe place (the original box and packing material make ideal storage units).
